Workout Review: Netflix Walking Workout Video by Rovena

When I walk indoors on my treadmill, I always turn on the TV to watch more of whatever Netflix series I’ve been streaming—so when I saw this Netflix Walking Workout by Rovena, apparently mixing indoor walking workouts with binge-watching your favorite show, I was definitely intrigued.
The idea behind the workout is simple: instead of listening to an instructor call out instructions during your walk-at-home workout, you can follow some basic steps while your favorite movie or series keeps you entertained. The workout itself is pretty simple: just the instructor on a mat in front of a window in her apartment. Each move is pretty basic—with arm movements to go with it—and a countdown clock in the top right corner of the screen tells you how much more time is left before you switch to the next move. There’s some basic music playing in the background (which sometimes feels just slightly off from the instructor’s steps), but the point is that you don’t really need the music; you just go at your own pace while watching something else.
Of course, there are some logistical challenges here—especially the fact that you need multiple screens to follow the workout while also watching TV. Though I usually keep my phone in my pocket while working out, I held it in my hand, so I could keep an eye on the instructor and switch moves when she did. It worked, but it did feel a little bit awkward.
This is definitely a beginner-friendly walking workout. The steps are pretty basic, and the energy sometimes feels a little low. This isn’t a high-energy, upbeat walking workout. Sometimes, in fact, it feels like the instructor herself is bored. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this workout as a standalone—but if you want a little extra guidance instead of walking on the treadmill or simply walking in place while you binge-watch, it’s a decent way to change things up.
Pros:
– Allows you to walk and binge-watch at the same time—great for multitasking
– Basic steps are beginner-friendly
– Counter to keep track of remaining time in each step
Cons:
– Multiple screens needed
– Instructor feels low-energy
