2-Mile Rebounding Power Walk Workout by Angie Fitness TV

Getting out for a walk on the trail offers so many health benefits—both physical and mental—but when you can’t get outside, it’s good to have plenty of backup options. I love my indoor walking workouts for those days when getting out of the house just isn’t an option (and I just can’t handle another day on the treadmill). You can find a list of all of my workout reviews here. But, recently, I’ve also been changing it up with weekly workouts on my rebounder.
A while back, I decided to combine my love of walking and my love of rebounding to try out a rebounder power walk video by Michelle Briehler. While it was a great workout, though, it wasn’t really the power walking workout that I was expecting—so I went back and tried the 2-Mile Rebounding Power Walk Workout by Angie Fitness TV, to see if that would be more of a walking workout.
This 30-minute workout (plus five-minute stretching cool-down) is true to its title. All of the moves here are easy variations on walking in place—sometimes walking at the center of the rebounder, sometimes walking with wider steps, sometimes adding in a step-touch or a heel tap. While there are a few optional jogging segments, there’s no bouncing—just walking. The moves are simple, and the instructor changes them up every 60 seconds—and you can keep an eye on the time remaining in each move with an extra-large countdown clock.

Though the instructor’s discussion does feel a little bit stilted and unnatural at times—especially in the beginning—she does give basic instructions for upcoming moves, along with a little bit of motivation and encouragement.
While the idea of walking on a mini trampoline may seem strange, I really enjoyed this workout. The steps are fast—with a brisk 15-minute mile pace—and, thanks to the unstable surface of the rebounder, these simple steps work your muscles differently than the same old stroll through your neighborhood. I could definitely feel different muscles working as I stepped.
If you need to take your daily walk inside—and you want to change it up from the same old treadmill workout—this workout is one of my favorite indoor walking workouts. It’s still an easy, low-impact walking workout, but it takes the same moves that you’re used to making every day and gives them an extra rebounder boost.
Pros:
– Low-impact
– Easy walking moves
– Walking on rebounder works muscles differently
– Clearly visible countdown clock
Cons:
– Generic music
