I may have mentioned before that my hands are always cold. Always. Even when the rest of me is warm (or at least warmish). When I did most of my walking on the treadmill, that was never really an issue—but at the start of my first outdoor-walking winter, I may have complained about it. A lot. I ended up layering thin gloves inside my warm winter gloves, but I still struggled to keep from losing feeling in my fingers. So my husband (whether out of concern for my poor, freezing fingers or a need for me to stop complaining about my poor, freezing fingers…or maybe both) came through for me by picking up these Warmhand rechargeable hand warmers and putting them under the Christmas tree.
These little things have been miracle workers! I didn’t want to spend a fortune on a bunch of disposable hand warmers—especially since I was walking outside most days. That just seemed so wasteful. So I love that these are rechargeable and reusable—and so easy to use, too. They come with a USB cable, so I can even charge them in my car in a pinch. And they also have three different temperature settings, so I can crank up the heat as needed.
As soon as we had our next frigid day, I tried them out with my New Balance gloves, which just hadn’t kept my frigid little fingers warm enough—but these hand warmers changed that. They’re definitely a little bulky—and they take a little getting used to—but they fit perfectly in my gloves’ zipper pocket, which made them really convenient. For most days, the lowest temperature setting is warm enough to keep my hands comfortable, but I can always crank up the heat when it gets colder. And I no longer need my extra liner gloves! I love them so much that they even made my list of Favorite Finds of 2023!
So if your fingers freeze on chilly outdoor walks like mine do, I definitely recommend picking up a pair and keeping them in your winter gear bag. Keep them handy during the winter months—so when the temperatures drop, you can pop them inside your gloves. You’ll be able to walk longer without fear of your fingers falling off from frostbite.
