Music Monday: Ordinary Day

Okay…so Great Big Sea isn’t actually from Ireland. They’re from Newfoundland. But if I ever feel like dancing a jig (not that I’m good at it — or, let’s be honest here, even know how), this is where I go. So I’m going to end the month with an awesome track by an Irish-sounding but not-really-Irish band.

Fun GBS story: on my wedding day, my maid of honor and I got stuck waiting for a firetruck parade (yup…seriously) as we attempted to get from our hair appointments to the church. There was nothing we could do to change the craziness of the day (I mean…don’t even get me started on the bagel story), so we parked the car, opened up the windows, and sang Great Big Sea songs at the top of our lungs. It may not have been an ordinary day, as the song says…but our state of mind made all the difference. I hope it makes a difference for you this week, too.
