Question of the Day: Motivation

I’ll admit that this week has been a low motivation week. Last week was the end of my daughter’s school volleyball season, and after running on adrenaline and chaos for 10 weeks or so, I was just worn out. Then we chased it with an epic concert weekend and house guests. And we kicked off the week with a school band concert. And did I mention that it’s been cold outside? By Tuesday, I was done. I didn’t want to get up. I didn’t want to go for a walk. I mostly just wanted to curl up on the couch and sleep until December. But somehow I managed to get myself up and moving – and I was treated to some gorgeous mornings and a surprise run-in on the trail that made my whole week. And I would have missed out if I hadn’t gotten up to walk.

How do you handle days like these? When you’re struggling with motivation, how do you get yourself up and moving?

Kristin

Kristin has been hitting the trail (or the treadmill) for a walk almost every day for the past several years, and she recently completed her first half marathon. She loves sunny fall days, cushy walking shoes, and coconut caramel iced coffee from Dunkin.
