When you’re active (and especially if you’re active and, say, over 40), you tend to experience some aches and pains from time to time. In my house, ankle pain isn’t uncommon—because my daughter is a volleyball player with weak ankles, and I was born with an annoying ankle disorder that makes swelling and ankle pain a regular occurrence. So, in our house, the freezer is stocked with burgers and tater tots and ravioli…and ice packs.
Through the years, I’ve tried a whole lot of different options for icing my sore, tired ankles at the end of a long day—from ziploc bags filled with crushed ice to bags of frozen peas to small ice packs designed to wrap around my ankle with velcro. But everything seemed to be just…okay. After trying the headache cap and sleep mask from TheraICE, though, I had a feeling that their ankle sleeves would be just what I needed to ease the pain in the best possible way.
The TheraICE hot and cold ankle compression sleeve is made of the same stretchy material and flexible gel as the company’s other products. It’s shaped like a sock and can stretch right over your foot to fit snugly and provide all-around cooling (or warming) comfort—so you don’t have to try to balance a bag of ice or position the velcro in just the right way. It’s perfect for anyone who wants to soothe their whole foot and/or ankle instead of just a single part. And it gives just the right amount of comfortable cooling.
Because ankle pain could set in at any time, I keep my sleeve in the freezer at all times, so it’s ready whenever I need it. If you prefer warmth, just keep it in a handy place and pop it in the microwave for 20 seconds, and you’re good to go.
If you’re prone to ankle soreness like I am, the TheraICE Ankle Sleeve is a must-have. No more messing with ice packs that slide off your ankle—or leak all over your socks. It’s the perfect cooling comfort for sore feet.
Pros:
– Multiple sizes available
– Can be used for either cold or hot compression
– Fits around your foot for full coverage
– No messes or ice pack awkwardness
Cons:
– Cooling isn’t extra-long-lasting
