I own a whole lot of plain leggings—many of them black—and there’s definitely a time and a place for plain black leggings. Sometimes, though, plain black leggings just won’t cut it—like when it’s Monday morning and you’d rather be curled up in bed in your PJs than hitting the trail.  Gone for a Run’s performance tights definitely add some color and fun to morning workouts.  I absolutely love the color and style of my margarita leggings—a discontinued print, unfortunately—but there are so many other fun styles to choose from, too.  There’s something for every holiday, most of your favorite fun runs, and every taste (unless your taste prefers plain—because you won’t find any of that).  Though the full-length leggings are no longer available, all of their capri-length tights come with two pockets (which is a must-have for me).

Still, if you’re used to the full-coverage, compressive style of many of today’s leggings, the mid-rise style of these tights may be less than comfortable.  Even though they include a drawstring at the waist, I still often feel like they’re about to slide down. The fabric isn’t as smooth as some other brands, and it feels a bit thinner, too. And if you feel most comfortable with a little compression, you may miss that here.

Really, it’s about your preferences. I’ve gotten so used to my high-rise compression tights that these feel very different. But if super-high waistbands and body-hugging compression aren’t your style, you might find the lower-rise lightness of these to be more freeing. For me, though, while I absolutely love the style of these tights—and I often reach for them on a dreary Monday morning—they’re not the kind of worry-free, stay-put leggings that I’d choose to wear on a race day.

Pros:
– So. Much. Style.
– Pockets!

Cons:
– Don’t stay put as well as some other brands
– Mid-rise fit isn’t as worry-free as high-rise
– Only available in capri length
– Fabric isn’t as soft and smooth as some other performance leggings
