Though I’ve tried all kinds of different hydration mixes through my walking journey, I’m always looking for new brand and new flavors to try. And when I come along a package at my local dollar store, you can bet I’m going to try it.
When I first picked up Peak H2O Hydrate, it wasn’t actually for myself. I bought it for my daughter—to put in her volleyball bag to keep her hydrated during tournaments. As it turned out, though, she rarely had time to mix up hydration packets, so she stuck with water and Gatorade and left the Peak H2O for me.

My daughter is a big fan of blue raspberry slushies, so I chose the Berry Blue flavor for her. While there’s plenty of flavor here, though, it isn’t the best flavor. While some sugar-free hydration mixes tend to have a strong aftertaste, I didn’t feel like that was especially overpowering here—just a slight hint of that aspartame kick in the end. Still, though I could sometimes catch some hints of those blue raspberry slushies, I found that the taste seemed almost medicinal—like a kids’ medicine that’s trying to cover up the medicine with some sweet flavor.
On the bright side, this hydration mix is low in calories and super-low in price—all while helping you replenish your electrolytes and vitamins during and after a long, sweaty walk. But if you’re looking for great flavor, this one probably won’t be one that you’ll want to keep stocked in your pantry.
