Most of us don’t think about hydration quite as much during the colder months. Our daily walks aren’t nearly as sweaty now as they were in the middle of summer. But hydration is still important—to replenish the electrolytes that we lose during our walks. But do you know what else is important right now? Our immune system. This time of year, it seems like there are at least eight different nasty viruses going around at any given time. We’re sending our kids into germy classrooms. We’re spending the day in germy office buildings. We’re pushing around germy shopping carts in the germy stores. So to replenish the electrolytes that you lose during your daily walk while also helping your immune system battle whatever’s going around this week, there’s Nuun’s Daily Hydration with Immunity.

This hydration option isn’t like the typical powder packet. Instead, it’s like a mix between your regular hydration mix and an Airborne tablet. You put it in your water bottle and let it dissolve. The Orange Citrus has a light citrus flavor that, while not necessarily my favorite flavor, does make it light and fruity and more interesting than plain old water. And while it doesn’t have the intense electrolytes that you’d get from some of the sport mixes, you’ll get extras like Vitamin C, zinc, elderberry, and more to help keep your immune system strong.

Though this may not be my favorite electrolyte mix flavor-wise, I love the blend of hydration and immunity. Because while you might not reach for those hydration packets quite as quickly in the winter as you would in the summer, it’s still important if you’re putting in the miles—and the added immunity boost makes it even more valuable during this sniffly, sneezy time of year.
