A few weeks ago, at the goodr display at my local Dick’s Sporting Goods, someone told me that the store should really be paying me commission for all of the sales that I was making for them that day. I just shrugged and said, “These are the best sunglasses out there.” Then I gave another customer—who happened to have a pair of OGs on her head, just like I did—a knowing smile and said, “Just be warned that once you buy your first pair, you’ll suddenly need 10 more.” It’s true: every time I get a text about a new collection, a new color, a new style…I find myself clicking over to see what’s new. Because once I fell in love with my first pair (Iced by Yetis), I became a collector.
So when goodr first teased their new Pop Gs, I immediately added them to my wish list. Pop Gs offer an updated, fashionable twist on the brand’s classic OG style, reshaping the square frames with more of a cat-eye look. But while goodr offers a few more obvious cat-eye styles, the Pop Gs are more subtle—offering a little extra flare without being too over-the-top.
When I finally picked up a pair of my own Pop Gs, I wasn’t surprised at all by the fit and the comfort level. Like OGs, Pop Gs are incredibly lightweight—so lightweight, in fact, that I sometimes forget they’re there. They don’t bounce or slide down my nose while I’m out on my daily walks. And the polarized lenses make them easy on the eyes (literally!), too.

Unfortunately, the color selection for this style isn’t wide—with a number of solid colors and a handful of limited edition styles, which are available while supplies last. And if you’re looking for glasses that make more of a style statement, you might want to try something like the Glam Gs instead. But if you’re looking for some super-comfy sunnies with a slight style upgrade, Pop Gs are a worthwhile addition to your collection.
Pros:
– Just as lightweight and comfortable as OGs
– Gives the classic square frames a little extra flare
Cons:
– Mostly available in plain colors—not a lot of options
– Shape isn’t as eye-catching as expected
You can find Pop Gs on Amazon or on goodr.com.
