I’m going to come right out and say it: moms deserve a little pampering. We bust our butts every single day—from the moms of infants who are providing their children with every last thing they need to survive and grow and develop to the moms of teens who cook and coordinate and chauffeur bossy dependents who roll their eyes and call them “bruh.” It’s…a lot.

But here’s the thing: when holidays like Mother’s Day roll around, we don’t expect a $5,000 handbag. Sure, an all-expense-paid solo trip to a tropical island would be nice, but we’d just appreciate something…thoughtful. In other words, think about what your mom loves and give her something that fits. For instance, if your mom loves walking, get her something that she can use to make her walking experience more enjoyable—like the gift ideas below.

Of course, this isn’t my first post about great gifts for walkers. You can find more ideas here and here and here. But there are so many great gifts that you can get for walking moms—so I’ve got even more to suggest!

So whether you’ve come here looking for gift ideas for your walking mama—or you’re a walking mama looking for suggestions for some things that you can add to your wish list and not-so-subtly hint about, I’ve got you covered!

Hanging Leggings Organizer

If your mom is anything like me, her leggings collection is…substantial. Mine takes up a whole lot of room—and sometimes, the way they’re stacked, some of them will get lost in the shuffle. This hanging leggings organizer will help Mom organize her leggings in a way that she can see them all clearly, so she can easily grab today’s pair without having to dig—and it won’t take up a ton of space in her closet, either

Car Headrest Hooks

Moms tend to take a ton of stuff wherever they go—because they’re expected to be prepared for everything at all times.

Whether I’m heading to sports practice, getting out to the trail, or setting out on a road trip, I spend a whole lot of time in my car—and, most of the time, I’m carrying a whole bunch of stuff with me. I’ve got my walking gear and some snacks and maybe a purse—and it’s easy to lose things in the shuffle. With these car headrest hooks, Mom can have everything within reach, so it doesn’t get lost on her way to the trail (or to drop you off at soccer practice).

Moisturizing Socks

When you spend a lot of time on the trail, your feet sometimes take a beating. A pedicure can help (and that’s another great gift idea)—but if Mom doesn’t have the time to sit at the nail salon (or if she hates having someone take a cheese grater to her feet), you can help her moisturize her feet with these soft, comfy socks. They’ll fix those cracked, dry walker’s feet in no time!

Magnetic Sunglasses Holder

If your mom has a tendency to forget to grab her sunnies on the way out the door, this car visor sunglasses holder will keep her favorite pair handy—so she’ll never have to fight through traffic while squinting. She’ll always have her sunnies right there with her. And every time she reaches for them, she’ll think of what a thoughtful child you are.

Sunglasses Storage Organizer

Sure, having a pair of sunglasses in the car is a good thing—but if your mom is like me, she might have…ahem…more than one pair. When I travel, one pair of sunnies just isn’t enough. And that’s why I have a storage case like this one. It can fit five of my favorite pairs, so I never have to leave home with just one pair of sunglasses—because that would be tragic.

Portable Hair Tie Holder

When you’ve got long, unruly hair like mine, you can never be without a hair tie (or, preferably, four). This portable keychain holder of ponytail holders will keep plenty of them handy—so Mom will never find herself without.

Perfume Bar

After a walk on the trail, sometimes I can’t head straight home for a shower. That’s why it’s good to keep deodorant in my walking bag—just in case. But if your mom is a fragrance person, she might also want to keep a perfume stick handy, too, so she’ll smell nice even after a long, sweaty walk on her favorite trail. This one comes in six different scents, so you can choose the scent that’s just right for Mom.

Turbie Twist

I’ll admit that when I got my first Turbie Twist as a Christmas present, I was a little confused. But, several years later, I never wash my hair without one—and I’m annoyed when I’m traveling and have to wrap a hotel towel around my wet hair. Turbie Twists are light and easy to use—and they’ll help Mom’s hair dry faster while she’s busy doing other mom things.

Dry Shampoo Powder

Speaking of hair…sometimes there just isn’t time for a wash—and that’s when dry shampoo comes in. This dry shampoo powder isn’t like the sprays your mom might have used before. It comes in a small container that goes on with an applicator—so she can use it where she needs it, to keep her hair looking fresh and clean between washes.

Lip Mask

A while back, I tried the Kalos Co. Tallow Lip Mask, and I was impressed by the results. I get that tallow suddenly has some political undertones, but the product works. For anyone who spends time outside in the elements—or who lives in places that suffer from dry winter conditions—this mask is a life-saver. It’ll keep Mom’s lips hydrated and a little glossy—so she won’t have to keep applying and reapplying throughout the day (or her outdoor walk).

Quick-Dry Handkerchiefs

These aren’t your grandpa’s plain white handkerchiefs! Instead, they’re small, 10×10-inch squares that Mom can use for wiping the sweat from her face on hot summer walks—or during workouts at the gym. I keep workout towels handy while I’m on the treadmill, but these are smaller and made of light-weight, sweat-absorbing microfiber—so she can easily pack them in her gym bag or walking pack.

Foot Massage Roller

Long walks often lead to tired, sore feet—so I’m always on the lookout for ways to soothe my tired feet. I keep massage balls (like these) at my desk, so I can massage my feet while I work. But this rolling foot massager looks like a walker’s dream.

Here’s hoping that this list gave you plenty ideas for Mother’s Day gift giving (or your Mother’s Day wish list)! Do you have anything else to add to the list of great gifts for walking mamas?

Kristin

Kristin has been hitting the trail (or the treadmill) for a walk almost every day for the past several years, and she recently completed her first half marathon. She loves sunny fall days, cushy walking shoes, and coconut caramel iced coffee from Dunkin.
