Since I pretty much live in leggings—all year round, in all cuts, weights, colors, and patterns—I’m always on the lookout for new brands to add to my collection. When it comes to finding activewear at a great price, Amazon seems to be an absolute goldmine—but there’s such a variety of brands that it’s hard to know which ones will become new favorites and which ones will fall apart after the first washing.
Recently, I heard about IUGA leggings in a Facebook group. After seeing a number of recommendations for the brand, I looked them up, only to find some in my size for under $20—and I just couldn’t resist. And when they arrived, I was pleasantly surprised.
My IUGA leggings (which stands for Inspire You to Go Active, in case you were wondering) are surprisingly soft—more like a soft, cottony feel than the typical shiny activewear. The high-waist fit is comfortable yet flattering, with the right amount of compression to keep everything looking smooth. And while I’ve been fooled before by a seemingly impressive pair of cheap Amazon leggings, these didn’t disappoint. I’ve worn them a number of times—both for everyday uses like running errands and sitting in the bleachers watching my daughter’s volleyball team and hitting the trail. And while some stretch after washing—or just don’t stay up after a while—these stayed in place. The fabric is soft without feeling thin—and while I do wonder how long it’ll take for the fabric to wear, I love the feel of them.
It seems as though IUGA has a number of slightly different leggings options—without pockets or with different numbers of pockets. Mine have four: two side cell phone pockets and two smaller, ID-sized pockets closer to the waistband. They’re incredibly handy—and I love the extra pocket options. They’re perfect for keeping keys and ID stored away hands-free when you’re on the trail.
Of course, ever since I started wearing CVG’s colorful prints, I’ve been looking for more leggings with fun prints. IUGA’s leggings don’t come in any prints—but they do come in a variety of solid colors. And considering the low price, it’s definitely worth stocking up on a few different colors for both everyday wear and hitting the trail.
Pros:
– Comfortable high waist
– Not a shiny athletic fabric—softer and more cottony
– Pockets
– Great price
– Stays in place
– Fits true to size
– Available in a variety of solid colors
Cons:
– Cottony fabric could get fuzzy/pilly
– Not available in prints
You can find IUGA leggings in a variety of styles on Amazon.
