Question of the Day: Post-Walk Beverages

Some people say that you should finish up a workout with a good protein shake – or another protein-rich drink like chocolate milk. Some reach for a favorite electrolyte mix or just plain old water. Me? I reach for my own so-called “protein shake” – which is actually iced coffee in a carton from Aldi. I love the mocha variety, which tastes a lot like chocolate milk, so that counts, right? I’ll add in a little extra cold coffee (which I brew ahead and keep in a mason jar in the fridge). It’s a great mix of coffee and sweet creaminess – and while it may not be the best for building healthy muscle, it makes me happy, so I stick with it.

If it’s Monday, however, I’ll often kick off the week with a run through the Dunkin drive-thru on my way home from the trail for a gigantic iced coffee.

Kristin has been hitting the trail (or the treadmill) for a walk almost every day for the past several years, and she recently completed her first half marathon. She loves sunny fall days, cushy walking shoes, and coconut caramel iced coffee from Dunkin.
