Gear Review: Oalka Leggings

I bought my first pair of Oalka leggings not for workouts but for Disney.  A $10 pair of capris (with pockets!) in a fun leopard print seemed like it would be perfect for our day at Animal Kingdom: cool and comfy and breathable, as well as on-theme.  While my experiences with purchasing cheaper Amazon leggings haven’t always been positive ones, I figured that I could always just relegate these to the Casual Wear Only pile (or even the Goodwill pile) if they didn’t hold up well during a hot and tiring day of walking and standing and riding through the park.

Instead of being eager to toss them aside when I got home, though, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they handled the miles and miles of hiking through Disney like a champ.  They were cute and comfortable, and I didn’t spend the day pulling them up (which, for me, is one of the most important factors).  Even after a couple of washings—when a good pair of leggings can sometimes turn into a saggy mess—they still stayed in place. So, once the capris passed the test, I got myself a full-length pair, too.  They fit just is well, with just the right amount of compression.

Though I love my plain black leggings, I have a lot of them. So I love that Oalka leggings come in all different colors and patterns.  You can get them with or without side pockets—and all of them come with a roomy waistband pocket.  Personally, I’ve never been a fan of storing my phone away in my waistband, right next to my sweaty lower back—but if you’re looking for extra storage, these leggings definitely come fully equipped.  And with a price range of anywhere from $7-20, they’re super affordable, too.  The only issue I’ve noticed is that the fabric sometimes makes more of a swishing noise than some others do—but other than occasionally making me a little self-conscious while I’m walking too close to other shoppers at Target, that hasn’t been an issue.

So far, these are my favorite non-fleece Amazon leggings: a good, affordable legging that offers plenty of variety.

Pros:
Pockets!
Fit true to size
Stay in place
Great price
A variety of colors and patterns available

Cons:
Fabric is a little noisy

You can find these comfy and affordable leggings—in all of their various styles and prints—on Amazon.
