If you have a tendency to get a little sweaty while you’re out walking—or if your hair tends to fall out of your ponytail and get in your face—headbands are a must-have accessory. I’ve tried a bunch that wouldn’t hold my hair—or that would pop right off mid-walk (which was just a little embarrassing). But Junk’s Big Bang Lite headbands are some of my favorites—both for workouts and for everyday.
Junk’s Big Bang Lite headbands are big and soft, made of a stretchy, moisture-wicking combination of polyester and spandex (much like your favorite leggings). The fabric is even SPF 50+, so they’ll keep your scalp from burning during those hot, sunny summer walks.
Unlike plain old tube-shaped headbands, these are wider at the forehead and tapered at the back of the neck, so they don’t bunch up under your hair. Admittedly, they sometimes feel a little wider than I’d like—they’re 3.75” at the widest point—and if I push mine back behind my ears instead of covering my ears, the fabric sometimes sticks out a little strangely toward the back of my head. But the important thing here is that, while other headbands move around, these always stay in place.
As an added bonus, they come in a plethora of different patterns, including your favorite sports teams, movies, and TV shows (if anyone wants to buy me a Ted Lasso headband, a Columbus Blue Jackets headband, or anything with sloths, llamas, or coffee, I will not turn it down). So just be warned: once you try one of these headbands, you’re going to want one to match every outfit and every mood.
Pros:
– Moisture-wicking fabric
– SPF protection for your head
– Won’t slide off mid-walk
– Tapered shape
– Available in a thousands of prints and styles and colors
Cons:
– Widest point sometimes feels too wide
